One of New York City’s most popular singing pianists. he has delighted audiences in such fabulous clubs as The Rainbow Room, The Ballroom and The Monkey Bar. With a repertoire ranging from Cole Porter and Duke Ellington to Hank Williams and Argentinean Tangos, he can sing in a dozen languages and segue from Jerry Lee Lewis to Arabic without missing a beat.
He is also an acclaimed theatre composer, winning the Drama Desk and Outer Critic Circle awards for co-creating and starring in the Off-Broadway hit, “SONG OF SINGAPORE.” His most recent effort, "JOHN GOLDFARB, PLEASE COME HOME!"opens August 2007 as part of the NY International Fringe Festival. The new musical includes belly dancing and football, which Michael says, "is what happens when you let a straight guy write a musical."
A gifted actor and a nifty song and dance man, Michael hosted the notorious and trendsetting underground burlesque shows produced by Dutch Weissman. He was featured in the Anita Baker video, “NO ONE IN THE WORLD”, directed by Spike Lee. More recently, he appeared with Michael Imperioli in a commercial for The National Beer Council, also directed by Spike Lee.
