Vocalist

In early 1999 bandleader, composer, saxophones & clarinet player Andy Farber formed The Swing Mavens, dedicated to performing standards as well as Mr. Farber's original compositions and arrangements. The band's unique style is a blend of straight ahead authentic jazz that that is reminiscent of the Royal Kings of Swing - Duke Ellington and Count Basie - and draws from the best elements from the swing era and from the Rat Pack stylings of Frank, Dino and Sammy. Andy & his Mavens play music from the Swing era to Be-Bop jazz, from the American Popular Songbook to Cabaret to Tin Pan Alley, standards and Latin as well as brand new original compositions.

They can serve as a high-energy dance band or as soothing dinner music. The Mavens are one versatile group!
