Bela Fleck and the Flecktones continue to break boundaries and defy categorization with their unique blend of bluegrass, jazz, and pop. Their latest release "Live at the Quick" accurately illustrates the band's unique global flavor united with the Flecktones signature electric sound. Various international performers are featured on this and many of their other albums, including India native Sandip Bruman, who plays the tabla drums, and Kongar-ol Ondar, a Tuvian throat singer from central Asia. The crew is a blend of highly imaginative musicians and include; Bela Fleck (the Einstein of the banjo), bassist Victor Wooten and his percussionist brother Roy Wooten (a.k.a. FutureMan), and sax man Jeff Coffin. In 2003, the Flecktones added Grammy Awards for Best Instrumental Arrangement and Best Classical Crossover Album for Perpetual Motion.
