Diane had her first gig at the age of 10, but the turning point of her career happened at the 1979 Monterey Jazz Festival when she sang Amazing Grace. Stan Getz heard her sing that night and was so impressed that he invited Diane to perform with him at the White House. That led to a recording contract with GRP, and she's been one of the most in-demand singers in jazz ever since. Diane's recordings have included her debut, Deedles and Love Songs, an album of ballads and collaborations with such legends as B.B. King and the Count Basie Orchestra. The albums won her Grammys for Best Jazz Vocal Performance in 1986 and '87.
